"Well there's a voice I haven't heard in forever." She chuckled, just sitting in her apartment nursing a glass of wine. "Hi, Handsome."

"Sorry, I should call more often. What are you up to tonight?" He smiled as he leaned back in his seat.

"Absolutely nothing. I had a meeting with Harvey, and then I went home early." She chuckled. "How about you, how are things at the DA's Office?"

"How did the meeting go?" He always asked, he was both curious and maybe a little jealous of the guy and hoped he wasn't going to swoop her away. "Things are the usual, and I'm off now. Was wondering if you'd like some company."

"Not well. He just wanted a favor," she said, she was still a little huffy about that. So a man wanting to spend time with her without wanting something in return was nice. "I'd love some company. My place or yours?"

"Well since you are already relaxed at home, I'll come to you." He offered and smiled standing grabbing his keys and pocketing them. He knew the ex wanting favors thing well at times. "Funny, all I want is you."

"You say that now." It wasn't directed at him, but she was a bit jaded about men at the moment. "I'll leave the door open for you."

He understood the jaded thing as well, but he was working through his own. He just really liked her. "I'll see you soon."

She left the door open for him and he'd find her curled up on her couch. She was still bitter, because she had allowed herself to fall in love with Harvey and to her, she could never be first in his life.
